The City would like to inform residents that traffic signal upgrades are scheduled for Thursday at the intersection of Highway 107 and Oakdale/Brockington Road.
Motorists should expect intermittent traffic delays while crews complete the improvements. Please use caution when traveling through the area, watch for workers and equipment, and allow extra travel time if possible.
These upgrades are part of ongoing efforts to improve traffic operations and safety for drivers throughout the community.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation while this work is being completed. Updates will be provided if the schedule changes due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

In the spirit of being good stewards of the taxpayer’s dollars, The Parks and Recreation facilities have implemented a cashless payment system at all concession stands, including the Thornhill Pool, Fairway Pool, and the Sports Complex. These updates are part of a broader effort to improve safety, accountability, and efficiency for both staff and visitors.
Based on an idea presented at the May 2026 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting, Sherwood Parks and Recreation will implement a new $5 punch card system to make purchases more convenient for families who need to use cash. Cash can be used to purchase these cards at the front desk of the Bill Harmon Recreation Center. Punch cards may also be purchased using a debit card, credit card, or tap-to-pay option at the Thornhill Pool, Fairway Pool, and the Sports Complex concession stand. These punch cards will expire 12/31/2026.
Additional accountability measures are also being implemented, including reduced on-site inventory and nightly inventory checks at concession locations. These updated processes are designed to strengthen financial accountability, reduce risk, and create a safer environment for employees and guests while continuing to provide quality recreational experiences for the community.
IT'S TORCH RUN DAY!!! The Torch Run is a fundraiser done by Law Enforcement agencies across the state for Special Olympics.
We will be receiving the torch from NLRPD around 11:30am. Once we receive the torch, we will be traveling northbound on Hwy 107, eastbound on Kiehl Avenue, turn onto Indian Head, and end at Indianhead Lake Baptist Church.
Please be aware of traffic delays due to the event.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run is for Special Olympics and is one of their largest fundraisers. Help us cheer on all officers running today!
