The 2024–2025 Mayor’s Youth Council (MYC) was recently recognized for completing a year of civic engagement, leadership development, and community service.
Over the course of the academic year, council members volunteered at numerous city events, engaged with municipal leaders, and participated in educational experiences, including a visit to the State Capitol. Their involvement showcased a strong commitment to public service and highlighted the value of youth voices in our community.
The group represented a diverse range of schools, forming new friendships and working collaboratively to make a positive impact on the community. Their efforts were noted by Mayor Heye-Townsell, who commended the group for their professionalism, enthusiasm, and dedication throughout the program.
