Today we hosted our very first Civilian Staff Appreciation Luncheon!
Police departments thrive on many moving parts- some being the dedicated civilian staff working behind the scenes. Their hard work ensures our officers and dispatchers can do their jobs smoothly, and today we were proud to take a moment to celebrate them.
Thanks again for all you do!

Happy National Dog Day to our K-9s Beli and Rony! We hope Officer Davis and Officer Young give you an extra treat.. or three.

Dear Citizens,
It’s hot out here. Really hot.
Our uniforms feel like ovens, the pavement feels like lava, and our patrol cars are basically saunas on wheels. We are one call away from turning into puddles on the pavement. So please, do us a favor.. stay cool, stay safe, and maybe hold off on any bad decisions until the temperature drops a little.
Sincerely,
Your very warm friends at the Sherwood PD 🥵

It’s that time of year again, Sherwood!
As we gear up to celebrate the 4th of July, we want to remind everyone to stay safe and follow the law.
To help raise awareness, you’ll see signs posted around the city about Ordinance No. 1592, which outlines what’s allowed, and what’s not, when it comes to fireworks.
Let’s work together to keep our community safe and festive this holiday.

Please see the attached media release regarding the enforcement of the fireworks ordinance in Sherwood this Independence Day.
SHERWOOD, AR (June 20, 2025) — The Sherwood Police Department wishes to remind all residents and visitors of the enforcement of Ordinance No. 1592, which has been in effect since January 2, 2003. This ordinance strictly prohibits the sale and discharge of fireworks within the city limits.
Historically, the Sherwood Police Department has enforced this ordinance by issuing warnings to those found in violation. However, in an effort to ensure the safety and peace of our community, this Independence Day holiday will see a stricter enforcement approach. Additional officers will be patrolling, and any violations of the fireworks ordinance will be met with written citations.
Summary of Ordinance No. 1592:
• Prohibition of Sales: It is illegal for any entity or individual to sell fireworks or similar devices within Sherwood city limits.
• Prohibition of Discharging Fireworks: It is unlawful for any person or entity to discharge fireworks within the city.
• Permission for Displays: Bona fide groups or organizations may request permission for fireworks displays on the Fourth of July or other events. This does not extend to individual citizens.
• Fines: Violations of this ordinance can result in fines ranging from $100 to $1,000.
The Sherwood Police Department asks for the cooperation of all residents and visitors in adhering to this ordinance. For more information, please visit www.cityofsherwood.net or the Sherwood Police Department Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/SherwoodPoliceDepartment/
