    1. Instructions to the Applicant

      All questions must be answered. A non-refundable permit fee must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office and Finance Department when issued. Any person, corporation, partnership, association, or other entity now paying a license to the City of Sherwood shall be exempt from the permit fee. No member or representative of a non-profit organization shall be required to pay any fee for a solicitor’s permit. Adequate documentation must be submitted with this application to identify your organization as a non-profit organization.

       

      Required documentation for approval of solicitor/peddler permit:

      • Name, address, and phone number of the Solicitor. (Limited to 5 applicants)
      • Provide a passport size (2x2) photo for Solicitor for ID badge.
      • Copy of driver’s license
      • Copy of background check that is no older than 6 months
      • Copy of Insurance bond no less than $1000.00
      • The nature or character of the goods, wares, merchandise, or services to be offered by the Solicitor.
      • A statement as to any convictions of felonies or crimes of dishonesty, the date(s) of conviction, the nature of the offense, and the penalty assessed, therefore.

      Failure to provide information could result in the denial of the solicitor’s permit.

      Expiration of Solicitor’s Permit

      Permits are valid 90 days from date of issue or until the permit has been suspended or revoked.

       

      Hours of Solicitation

      No soliciting shall occur before 9 a.m. and must conclude by 8:00 p.m. or sunset, whichever is earlier. No solicitation shall be permitted on Sunday.

       

      License Fees

      Upon approval of application, the requesting party shall pay the sum of two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each solicitor pursuant to Sherwood Ordinance No. 1598 schedule of license fees. (Amended by Ordinance 2518).
