Public Notice: Scheduled Network Upgrades at Sherwood Police Department and City Hall
To enhance the security and reliability of our network infrastructure, the City of Sherwood’s I.T. Department will perform critical updates on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, starting at 9:00 a.m. These updates are necessary to modernize and strengthen our systems, ensuring they are prepared to meet future demands.
While the work is being conducted, there will be temporary interruptions to services at the Sherwood Police Department and City Hall, both locally and remotely. We anticipate intermittent disruptions lasting 2–3 hours, including 30 minutes to 1 hour of full downtime during the upgrades.
Services Affected
- Servers and Services: Limited access to services such as Virtual Justice for the courts and the accounting system for Finance and HR.
- Phones: Phone services at both locations will be affected, except for 911 emergency services, which will remain operational.
- Radios and Power: Radios will function as usual, and building power will not be impacted.
- File Shares and Printers: Access will be restored quickly after the updates.
We are taking steps to minimize disruption, and future updates will have less impact on operations. Thank you for your patience as we complete this essential work to improve the reliability and security of city systems.
